7 things to remember when you’re feeling heartbroken
Most of us experienced heartbreak at some point in our lives. When that happens, acknowledging our loss is the first step to healing.
We cannot protect ourselves from the pain of loss, because our grief is a reflection of our love. Since nothing is permanent, for as long as we allow ourselves to love, we we will also experience loss. Yet, these heartbreaks transform us and they are important elements of our human experience. 7 things to remember when you’re healing a broken heart:
1. Going through a breakup hurts, sometimes it hurts more than we ever imagined it could. It can also hurt for a long time. But one day, you will wake up and that pain will be gone. This pain that ‘s your chest right now – it will not last forever.

2. You might have gotten your heart broken. Maybe even more than once. But that doesn’t mean that you won’t love again, maybe even deeper than ever before. Don’t lose hope.

3. Being single can be good for you. It’s an opportunity to work on yourself, get to know yourself a little bit more, practice self-love, upskill, learn new language or make other positive changes in your life. Take advantage of this time.

4. If you feel sad – cry. It’s a part of the process.

5. If you feel angry – kick something. It’s a part of the process.

6. Appreciate this experience – it’s super hard to heal from a breakup, but you’re learning a lot about relationships and about yourself right now.

7. Consider the type of partner you want to be with in the future. How do you want to feel when you’re with them? What kind of relationship do you want to have?
